Born This Way Ball Tour Poster: Here they are!  My first design ever for the Born This Way Ball!  Once again, I was able to incorporate a recent nail art trend into the design: galaxy nails! (thanks, Gaga!)

Colors & Materials Used: (I pretty much just kept on adding until these looked right, so bear with me!) Black base coat with sponged on colors, and glitter top coats. Sponged colors include grey, Mint Sorbet and Bubblegum Pink (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - used as bases against the black for the following colors), Rise and Shine teal and Dream On magenta (Sinful Colors), Halley’s Comet sparkly teal (Orly).  White “stars” were added, followed by Rockstar Pink glitter (Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear), and Tiara silver glitter (Orly).  Accent piano key nail was striped with white, then “keys” were define with a black nail art pen.

Phew. That’s a lot of layers! If you’ve never tried galaxy nails before, like I hadn’t, tutorials are easily found on YouTube.

Next week I’m very excited to post a sort of Nail Challenge that my lovely monster friend, Sarah, suggested we try (Gaga herself recently tweeted her regarding her hooker nails!)  We both did designs based on the same Gaga image, and then compared.  It’s funny how similar they turned out based on the techniques we chose! Coming next weekend!
